One day every year....

...my pet skeleton Mortimer sails the trails and neighborhood streets. Today is that day!!

Here he is patiently posing on the Lake Ontario State Parkway trail. We had just left the diner where he had also posed for several "Cell Phone Photographers". He never complains.

This year, Mortimer has acquired a new sabre. As you may be able to surmise by his new eye-patch, he's not too careful with his sabre!!

The Captain's quarters has some newly added amenities also. There's a short sword-like thingie for sticking into stuff and a nifty spy-glass in a custom made spy-glass holder, all precisely mounted for easy access.

Of course Fred rides up in the bow. After all, doesn't every pirate need a parrot?

Aaarg!!

Happy Halloween!!!!

Looks like Mortimer's clipless pedals held a little too firmy. You'll have to teach him how to unclip.

I think that Mortimer qualifies for membership in Club Tombay.

How much does your stoker weigh and what's the power output - all that counts!

Alas, despite his obvious dedication he's just Dead Weight.

He was instructed to keep his feet on the pedals, no matter what.

Skeletons are very obedient and willing to please.

Let me guess: you pulled up to a bar and he sauntered in. He goes up to the bartender and tells him, "I'd like a beer and a mop".

Certainly not a candidate for the Clyde/Athena forum. Sorry, couldn't help the really bad reference.

Later that same day......We were out cruising in the dark among the little and big Trick or Treaters. A couple of stratigicly placed strobes lit Mortimer up quite brightly. It's amazing how many little ones don't want to pet a skeleton!!

The decorations ranged from elaborately excessive like this house a few blocks away...

...to simple but extremely effective like this witch just a few doors down.

She says she wants to get a cauldren for next year but promises not to cook any little "Trick or Treaters" in the front yard!

That would have been my lunch run. I wondered if I'd see you out there today but I was looking for you on a Trek, not a car.
