Goal Completed !!
I don't usually set a mileage goal but this has been an unusual year for me. A few weeks ago I determined I was only a few miles short of reaching 1,000 miles and decided to set this as a goal. I'm happy to say I completed this goal today. I now have 1006 miles for this year. It was a great day for riding with temps in the mid-40's and a gentle wind from the south at around 5 mph. The only thing missing was sunshine but we don't get a lot of that this time of the year here in SW Ohio.
I started at a local park, Wegerzyn Gardens, and rode through several other area parks for lunch at the 2nd Street Market. This is one of my favorite rides.
The pictures below were taken on my way to lunch. I hurried on the return trip to be sure I avoided the approaching rain. I hate getting wet in cold weather.
The first picture was taken at an underpass. We've had a lot of rain lately and the river is running high.
The second picture is of our trail "poopers". At least they were staying along the side of the trail today.
The third picture is of Wilbur and Orville Wright. Wilbur looks like he's ready to grab my bike for a ride. I bet they would be amazed at today's bikes.
The fourth picture is of the trail detour around the I-75 construction. The paper said yesterday that construction along this corridor would continue for the next 6 years
The fifth picture is Deeds Point Park. Riverscape and downtown Dayton are just across the pedestrian bridge.
I tried but couldn't get the pictures inside the post.....have no idea what I was doing wrong.

Kudos, Beverly! As you enter next year may the challenges you faced this year remain far behind you and begin turning into a distant memory.

Congratulations Beverly on your thousand miles I have some understanding what you are going through as my wife has stage 4 melanoma and is in the middle of her chemo. So congratulations again and here's to many more miles of riding.
