Whoa! That was fast!

The Holidays went by too darn fast!

All three daughters have completed their way too short but much anticipated Holiday visit and returned to their respective and far away homes. The house is soooo empty now, and quiet.

I've got lots of pictures to mull over and reminisce and they gave us some wonderful gifts to enjoy. Thanks to them we now know what this Netflix stuff is all about. What's a Blu-Ray? There's still a few cookies left, and about a case of beer.

Sigh.....well now that things have settled down a bit I guess it's time to decide which bike to start messing with down in the basement (yep, that's where the beer is). It's gonna be a looooong Winter.

Sigh.

Cookies left over!!!

The heck with the bikes and Netflix. First things first.

I am glad you had a great time together. We did too, and it is nice.

We haven't even had our family Christmas gathering yet. It's tomorrow afternoon - lateish in the afternoon so it won't interfere with nap time for some of our younger members.

Mrs. Grouch and I have both commented we think our kids are Christmas-ed out. One son even [gasp] suggested we just order in a bunch of pizzas for dinner.

I'm thinking I may have to exert some leadership here:
1. I'm willing to compromise with the inlaw families on the timing of our Christmas celebration, but we are not an after thought.
2. Christmas dinner must include pastachina.
3. Fair is fair. Remember this day when Thanksgiving 2112 comes around. The Grouch Thanksgiving will take precedence over all others.

"We work not only to produce, but to give value to time." - Eugene Delacroix (French Romantic painter 1798 - 1863). This quote comes to mind when I think about how we come to fill time until we can be with our loved ones again. They'll be back, and the bike project will help fill the void. Now as far as the cookies and beer goes... how could that possibly happen?
