My wife is against this

I saw this jersey, it fits because I do ride a 29's, and it has no suspension.

But for some reason, she does't like it.
What say you fine fellows?

That shirt could be referring to my right leg after I had the knee replaced.

Where To Draw The Line

Several things come to mind:
- not particularly clever
- we want our wives to endorse our riding, no need to create an irritant
- why offend some stranger over a joke?
- pick your real battles - there are certain things to die for - this ain't one of them

So, I'd pass on this shirt. Get one with the Lion of Flanders on it and use it as a conversation starter...

Good luck.

Phil

The front of the jersey looks like a goofy cartoon face. Maybe that's her beef.

It's a cute joke. But do you really want to spend all that money on a punchline?

Do what my mother had me do as a youth. Wait a month and see if you still want it.

I have to agree. I think most people would find it in bad taste.

I think it's pretty imaginative and funny. Some folks have no sense of humor. Personally I wouldn't wear it, but that doesn't mean it isn't funny. And I doubt the OP really wants this anyway. Lighten up folks! And besides I'm half rigid:

Good idea. My Mom had me wait a week. It's amazing how many things you think you want but don't really.

If that describes yours, perhaps she's concerned about what it implies about her's.

my (female) reaction: poor taste/lacks class/not even clever.
normally I say "hi" to other cyclists I see, but not with a stranger wearing that type of jersey.

I've recently developed a theory that men have a mental age marker of approximately age 13.

We use education and life experience to camouflage that we've actually stalled our fundamental guiding principles at the age of 13. Some men hide it better than others, but we're all really just 13 year old men.

Women; however, continue to develop through their whole life.

So yeah, my 13 year old mind thinks the shirt is funny.

1) Husbands and wives don't always agree. Fact of life.
2) The reference to length is sooo far from reality, even for those with delusions of grandeur, that I see the jersey as innocuous, IMO. One (esp a female) might take offense at first site but, 29 inches??? Really!!?? I think that it's "too far out there" to be offensive.
