Garage Door Alternatives
As we all know, when posting a picture of a new bike purchase, it is customary, perhaps even mandatory, to display said bike in front of a garage door (preferably one owned by the bike's owner).
I don't have a garage, hence, I don't have a garage door. What would be the protocol when I get my next bike in terms of background for the required introduction picture? I don't want to violate any norms or ground rules, and I'm asking ahead of time so as to give me time to prepare for this event.
Bear in mind I don't live near the Grand Canyon, the Teton Mountains, the St. Louis arch, or the Statue of Liberty. I'm thinking it has to be a little more local.
Also bear in mind it's still a bit early in the year for Bikini Babes, although they might be fun to include.
After my long absence from the 50+ forum, I've forgotten what's acceptable and what's not.
PS: By the way, I'm test riding a Specialized Sectaur this afternoon.

A wall, a tree, a fence, furniture, whatever is not too distracting (bikini babes excepted). Just make sure the cranks are level with the drive side pedal forward.

Sounds like teachme has seen the signs on Rosecrans. You could ride down to the Midway and have that in the back ground. Personally I think anything with the Coronado bridge in the back ground would work fine.

You might try a bookshelf, as I did. It is easy to snap a good shot when you are able to prop the bike's wheel between two of your least favorite volumes. The added bonus comes in that it is not nearly as creepy-old-dudish as posing it in front of a strip joint.

We're a little thin on dead cows to prop on around here but we have lots of dead armadillos. But they're not big enough to prop, maybe if I stacked 8 or 10----
