Pump recommendations
 

I have a great pump at home, but I need one to take on the road. I'd prefer a pump to CO2. Not having bought one in a while, I figured I'd ask you guys and gals for recommendations or suggestions. Hope to buy one (or order one) this weekend.

That does look like a good'un. It's a little weird that it gets such polarized reviews. 118 five star, but 22 one star.

Another Topeak Road Morph user. Is it perfection? No. Each of my two have their own little issues. But is it plenty good enough. Yes.

Unless 10 Wheels says it.

I ride with a group that has the pump and many flats.

Never seen anyone have a problem with the pump in 4.5 years.

I now have one on each bike and have not needed to use them Y E T.

A Mountain Morph lives on our tandem - the rest of my riding I am accompanied by a Mini Morph.

Topeak Mini Dual G with guage. Not the smallest but then it's light and packs a whallup on high psi's. My Krylion Carbons need 100psi or more and this is the pump I use to obtain it. The guage is handy, too.

Topeak Turbo Morph G here. I like the round gage.

I'd rate it 5 stars for function and 1 star for looks. I think that they're kind of clunky and ugly looking.

Another vote for the Road Morph. I've got 2 of them, and used to sell a ton of them in my store.
No problem at all pumping up to 110 psi and beyond.

Picked up TOO late--Morph Pumps are the beast around and I have two BUT they do not fit every frame. On Boreas I had to use the "Mini"Morph as the seat tube is very short. The carrier replaces a bottle carrier. The Morph Pump also did not fit the Giant TCR on the seat tube either. I had to fabricate- --Adapt a Pump mount from another Make to fit it alongside the front Bottle carrier.

And why worry about needing a Pump?- With the bike butler following in the Team car you should not need one.

I have two. A medium size one that is on my bottle cage on my hybrid bike. I also have a small one in the saddlebag of my road bike. The nice thing about these pumps is that they have a flexible hose inside that makes pumping far less awkward than many pumps. The hose has a gauge built in as well. I am a major wimp and I have no trouble pumping up to 70 pounds and could go higher but then it starts getting hard for me to pump. It pumps the road bike tires pretty fast, the big 1.7s on my hybrid take awhile.

Never mind the pump! That is a fine looking Trek! :thumb:

I ordered a Topeak Road Morph a couple days ago before this thread. Glad to see the props for it.

I resolved the Morph or Lezyne question by using Topeaks and admiring the Lezynes. The portables are nice and the floor pumps objets d'art.

I have the Lezyne floor pump too. Pretty and functional. I favored the Lezyne pumps for the bike because of the small size and yet good pumping ability. I have a 43cm frame on my road bike, there was no place to put a pump except in a saddlebag or on the bottle cage. Either way, I needed a small pump.

I do ride small frames-50/51. The Pinarello is a conventional top tube that is nearly level and has the Road Morph fitted. It only just fits.

The mini Morph is the one I had to buy for Boreas as The road morph is too long- It is also too long for the TCR. Both these frame have sloping top tubes so watch the pump you buy if you have small frames. And the Mini Morph works well- just takes a bit longer to get to pressure but on one ride I checked pressure after a puncture and I had got to 120psi with ease

I put a wide rubber band (cut from an old tube) on the pump head to keep dirt out.
