A small victory...
I have been riding almost a year now, and my wife has been riding about six months. Thought I would share a small victory we experienced this past Sunday. Riding with our local group she summoned some courage and rode to the top of a very tall bridge at which point a pic of this sort seemed appropriate.

She looks so happy and proud. Take it from someone on the cycling comeback trail, I am inspired and motivated because of her accomplishment.
Congratulations Mrs. teachme!!!

Shouldn't Mrs. Teachme really be named Mrs. Teachinghim? After all she is still probably teaching him all the time. Oh, and Congratulations to the Misses.

That is awesome. Congrats to your wife for that milestone. I love it when I hear personal best stories. My wife has bilateral hip prosthesis and rides a recumbent tadpole trike because of it. I remember when she rode 36 miles last year, the furthest she has ever gone. I took her out to dinner to celebrate.
BTW, that bridge looks like many of the bridges we have in the Tampa Bay area that cross the bay from Tampa to St. Petersburg and also many of the shipping channels. Two of the rides that I do yearly, have two of those bridges as part of the ride and you cross them going out and coming back to the finish line.

If you have any fear of heights at all those sort of places can be a bit nerve-wracking for sure. Even though the shoulder looks reasonably wide, fast passing truck traffic can add to the thrill. And the surrounding terrain looks pretty flat so that qualifies as a climb! Way to go Mrsteachme!
