Humor at Tractor Supply
This morning I stopped at Tractor Supply to pickup a tin of Bag Balm, an excellent chamois cream. The nice lady behind the counter asked if I had cows. I responded, "No, a bicycle". The look on her face was priceless!

She was likely wondering what part of a bike gets chapped! Ha...

You can also get Bag Balm at Wal-Mart in the hand lotion section. :)

My wife's Aunt used, she passed away some years back, Bag Balm for and to prevent chapped lips. Just don't let anyone use the Bag Balm can you use for your butt on their lips.
|
Does the Bag Balm wash out of the chamois easily without any staining?

Ummm, you're choice, but I'm thinking more along the lines of, "just don't let anyone use the Bag Balm can you use on your lips on their butt."

It's just petrolatum with some lanolin and some mild antiseptic. It has an old fashioned carbolic smell.

Camilo,
First, I apply it to me. I've not had any staining problems. Get a small container and give it a try. Some like it, some don't. Just like redheads. |

I use Bag Balm when I tour. The chamois washes fine.
OTOH, since it is good to keep skin from cracking. I use it on my feet to help keep the skin soft, because as a long-term effect of diabetes the skin does not sweat enough and the natural oils diminish and... I suppose vaseline would do the same, however the BB is in the house and handy. Nice laugh :p |

BB is about as good as anything on dry chapped hands in the winter. I have never tried it on my rump.

Should have told her that it for you because you were chapped from all the milking. That would have lit her up.

Someone was worried about Bag Balm staining their chamios. Do you have chamios inspectors where you come from????

No, but I sometimes wear them inside out for sanitary purposes (like I reverse my underwear if I haven't done laundry in a while). Don't want them to look unsightly.

(I tried to resist, really, really tried. Sometime you gotta swing at the easy pitches) |
