Ah. I guess if you had a Porsche and you had the money(nothing wrong with that), it would be nice to have a Porsche bike. No bigee I guess.
I had(still have a different one) a Cannondale mountain bike. When I heard they were making a dirt bike, I was thinking it would be cool to have one.....until it turned out to be one big disaster
They tried too hard to get it fuel injected and never quite got the mapping of fuel delivery right. Plus the engine was describe to sound like a "pea thrasher". The rest of the bike was OK, but...

The light-weight one is almost 20 lbs. Guess it will look good on top of the Cayenne driving to the Starbucks.

I have no clue how they are related, but I think the bike is ugly and is certainly not built for speed.

Ducati once sold a Ducati branded bicycle and I think it was made for them by Bianchi. Same sort of idea.

Well, I for one learned something. We've thought that carbon forks were strong, light and dampened road vibrations, but no:

BMW has also made some bicycles over the years.
Here's a 2011 "M" class inspired carbon road bike:
It's nicely spec'd but you are definitely paying for the "brand".
Dealer support/parts are probably pretty limited as well.
Not something that you necessarily want if you're spending $3,600 on a bike.
But it is unique and for that you pay!

I wonder where you would race the "two new Porsche city bicycles"? The higher end offering, "The 29-inch Racing Sport (RS) edition is engineered for speed. Because it is made from carbon fiber, including the frame, forks, handlebars, brake levers, stem and seat post, it weighs 19.8 pounds", seems to be in a class all by itself.

I would expect something more from Porsche, really. Something innovative, which these bikes certainly are not. Good to see Crank Bros. wheels being used, but really, Porsche could design their own wheels. Looks a bit "Volari-ish" in the frame design too.
Rather than being inspired by the 911, I would rather see a bike inspired by the 956/962!
Anyway, Colnago has made "Ferrari" bicycles (road and mountain), there have been Maserati bicycles as well but really, that's all marketing fluff, not real engineering/design work by the automotive companies.
