Rode hard on a pair of fatties today.
Now that I have your attention;
I put a set of 700x38 Vittoria Randonneur Hyper on my Mostorcross bike. These tires are light, smooth, fast and supple. I rode 42 miles of mostly crushed limestone plus a mix of chip-seal, pot-holed asphalt and broken concrete, It was bliss. Like floating on a cloud while keeping a solid road-bike pace. These tires will cover any firm and dry surface without slowing. Who needs a emaciated tire that can't keep going when the real adventure begins. I'll ride a fatty any-day. |
Ok, I'll start. Did they enjoy it more or did you?

A great time was had by all. I took them places they had never seen before. It was a scenic ride along the crooked river.

Are 700x38C tires really considered fat? My Maxxis Overdrives are that size, and they replaced my old Specialized Nimbus 41C tires...

Since I picked up the Pug even the 2.3's on my hard tail look anaemic... if you want fat we has that.
