My first mtb race in 20 years!
It's this Sat., 7/14. I signed up for Beginner Men 50+ That number makes me laugh as I feel like I'm 25. Wish me luck.

You should venture into the new Masters racing sub-forum. Lots of advice and support to be had.

That feeling like 25--Add another 100 to that after the race and just hope it is not halfway through the race.
Usual suggestions- drink well before the event- you will not have much time during it--Eat a good breakfast and don't take the usual route of starting slow.
Good luck and don't fall off.

Thanks, all! I just found out my time beat all but 2 of the 40-49s :-) In fact, most of us 50+ guys did. Woo-hoo!
