Oh Crap!!
PSA is elevated again.
Got an appointment with the urologist next Thursday. I guess I didn't have enough things on my plate.... |
Sorry to hear it and we all hope it works out to not be anything bad.
|
PSA is only an indicator- not a problem.
And just had to have my PSA checked again as my last test 2 months ago was elevated. |
Think positive Lenny, hoping this is just a false alert for you. Keep us posted when you know something.

Good luck on the check-up! I have mine checked twice a year as my father died from prostate cancer. It seems normal for it to jump around some within reason but I have had the ultra-sound check once (negative). THAT wasn't fun!
|
Mine actually went down at my last checkup. What's with that???

Good luck.

Was going to make a joke about "crap" and urologist, but enough of that. Hope all goes well!

My best to you. In any event, whatever it is (if it is anything, which I doubt) is treatable, and with modern techniques even more easily.
|
Good luck to you, Lenny. Don't do too much worrying about the elevated PSA as it could be nothing and can make it mentally worse for you until something definitive is known.
|
At least you have it checked. Think positive and take er easy. We are pulling for you.
|
Fingers and toes crossed.

Last time I had my PSA checked it was up a little bit. When I asked my doctor what I could do to lower it he replied (now this might be shocker!!) ejaculate more to keep stored sperm fresh!
Needless to say I didn't know what to say in reply!! :twitchy::twitchy: |

Sorry to hear that. Did they check your "free" number? Looking for a number above 20. Mine was 5 & well you know the rest of the story. Good luck to you, and remember, no sex or biking 48 hrs prior to a PSA test. I hated that part, I love to ride, ha. Praying all is OK for you.

Most likely nothing to worry about. Hoping for an all clear.

Thanks all for the positive vibes! |
My PSA doubled in just one year - still technically within the 'normal' range for my age, but the jump was dramatic enough to raise the alarm flags. I went back two months later for a re-test and was higher yet. Made appointment for biopsy. Cancer found. At my age (52 at the time) I opted for a complete prostatectomy. I found out later that my maternal grandfather died of prostate cancer. Had it for several years and was in constant pain before succumbing (this was in the early '60s before the treatment options we have today). Also found that prostate cancer is common in my mother's family - four of my cousins have it as well!
