Put it on the tool bag, or, the the seat stay?

What bag and light? Some light have clips that can
attach to a saddle bag, or you can put it on your helmet.

Put a bag on your bars (zip ties work)

Like others have asked, does it have a place to hang a light? I have the Topeak Medium Aero Wedge and there is a strip on it to hang a light. That is where I hang my Radbot 1000. You can see where where I attach mine in the picture below.

I mounted my rear light on the lefthand seat stay. That way as long as I don't ride in the UK, Down Under or any of those other places with backward roads :innocent: I'll always have a light on the traffic side of my bike. Just for a Zen-like symmetry, I mounted the little red reflector I had on the other seatstay. :thumb:

Actually, my seat wedge has a loop for a light, but it was impossible to get it to actually shine outward instead of down at the wheel.

Mine is on the seat stay.

BUT - if you're going to ride in a group, PLEASE do a favor to the guy who will be riding behind you: Angle it downward.

Lights mounted against the seat stay point right into the eye of the guy on your wheel, and blind him.

thanks guys I have a bontrager saddle bag and a cateye light.I can't find a way to mount the light to the saddle bag.So I will install the light on my back up bike and get a light with a rear clip for the loop on the saddle bag.

One thing to consider, is that your emergency toolkit doesn't have to be attached to your bike! Just stuff it in a fanny-pack, and you'll have your tools no matter which bike you choose to ride! Or even if you're out walking, and spot a cyclist in need of assistance! ;)

My wedge bag is an expandable Avenir, mounted to the seat rails and seat post. It has a loop for a hang on light. I use a Planet Bike blinkie rear light mounted on the left seat stay to avoid a conflict with the brake structure on the right side.

Do you have a rear rack, by any chance? Mine has a cut-out onto which I've mounted my blinkie. This lets me keep the toolbag under my saddle.

You can get a nice handle bar bag at Benny's or KMart for under $10.
