For my 37'th I climbed directly up the east face of the Sierra's just south of Olancha Peak. Overlooking Owens Dry Lake where once barges crossed carrying tons of silver ore, there's nothing like the view of a potential 90 degree fall covering at least 2K onto the parched desert floor now drained by Los Angeles. Banzaaaaaaaaaiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii.....

I've got a 2 1/4 x 3 1/4 Graphic out in the garage somewhere...looked for it the other day and I have way too many containers in that garage. Love those old cameras.

I've always wanted to be a singer (not really). My family is into karaoke. Dad has a whole room dedicated to karaoke, brother sings like a bird but I have to try real hard to carry a tune. Some day I will go karaoke at a bar with them. I sing a little bit with them but I'm way outclassed.
I have fun practicing alone watching youtube karaoke videos.
I suck but it's fun and it keeps me out of trouble. No mics, just a you rube karaoke video.

Good rhythm. Pretty much on key .
My wife and I are working on a song together for a duet in church. "This Is My Story; This Is My Song." It comes with an accompaniment CD. I sing the bass/baritone part, she soprano. For once, the song starts with a bass solo. Almost ALL songs that have a starting solo use sopranos.
I also do the solo (and VERY feebly play the guitar) on "It is Well With My Soul"
Here is a current listing of all the a cappella (no accompaniment) songs my XY Zingers group sings (BS means Barbershop arrangement):

I grow hobbies like an vacant lot grows weeds. Or something like that.
Music: I play trombone in the Roseville, CA Community Concert Band. And I'm pleased to report that we had to bring extra chairs into Sunday's Christmas concert to avert standing room only. Yes!
I also play renaissance trombone, called sackbut. We (husband and I) get together once a month with up to 7 other people for a group lesson in wind band music, so I get to play with shawms also (an early double reed).
But wait, there's more!
I play recorder as well - my husband has a glorious set of Renaissance recorders made by a fellow named Prescott. We've some friends locally (as well as farther away) who also play Prescotts so sometimes we get a room full of sound. Sweet.
I'm spending 1/2 an hour a day most days trying to relearn what I knew of piano. Fortunately, the electric keyboard has a headset port so no one else has to listen. I'm staggering through Prokofiev's Children's music and Bela Bartok's Microkosmos.
Once a week we (hubby and I) get together and wail away on Renaissance vocal music with some friends.
When I camp and backpack (less often now than a few years ago) I sleep in a hammock.
I sometimes still use my Nikon manual focus gear: Nikon F, Nikkomat, and beautiful prime lenses. It is getting harder to get film processed so that may fade away. So sad.
I play with dolls. Specifically Asian ball jointed dolls. I got into this hobby so I could make clothes for them (mine are somewhat larger than Barbie dolls so I'm not totally nuts). I have the bare beginnings of an Etsy store TheEducatedFlea.etsy.com
The doll hobby has become my catchall for all indoor hobbies: sewing, building scale furniture, making shoes, more photography, painting, drawing, writing copy, blogging, blah blah blah. Quite entrancing even weirder than riding a trike.

Felt like I was watching a movie during the musical part of a march or similar scene. Especially like Amazing Grace and Down to the River, very nice!

Much like I rediscovered cycling about a year-and-a-half ago I have rekindled a desire to learn more guitar; specifically, the blues. Here is a pic of the current axe I am hacking on.

not to be too technical but the proper word would be on "pitch".

Well, I could argue that he could be singing it in an entirely different key than in what it was written and played. I.e., written and played in the key of C, but sung in the key of C#.
But, then, I would not want to get too technical.

As I always mention when I take a chance and post a video like this for FUN, I always state that I am in no way a singer and don't expect to be. My father sings very well, his buddy is like a pro and my brother can melt women with his voice (lucky dawg)
I only wish that I could sing well enough but I am realistic, I ain't no singer so if a peson who knows anything about singing says I am even near key/pitch or even near in tune is a good thing and I don't take any offense at all, it's a good thing. I only hope I can someday do as well as some of the other suckers at a karaoke place. And from what I've seen in the way of karaoke, I ain't that far off ha ha!
So I do post these kids of videos for fun while expecting some humorous comments and criticism. So relax guys, I suck and I know it and in now way am I offended, it was all for fun!
Heck, If I was worried about being offended, I wouldn't have posted the 500 or so videos and thousands of pictures of our bike rides.

My was meant in jest, because I consider you a friend and thought you would take it good-naturedly, as you have. Your singing was actually very good. I would not have made my comment if it wasn't good. I was taken aback that it was considered a criticism of you, since the smiley was there. Internet communication always leaves a lot to be desired. But, generally, a smiley indicates - hopefully - some humor or jesting.
