So it's been one year

Sometime around this month or last marks that I've been back on a bike for one year after a 2 year hiatus (and I was rarely riding before that). Why I stopped riding, I don't know. What I do know is that I'm having a blast. In that time, I got a new mountain bike, learned some new trails, revisited some old ones, had 3 crashes that were good enough for my wife to tell me to stop riding (good luck!), lost some weight, gained some lungs, did a couple of races and had a lot of fun. Don't stop like I once did.

Oh, yeah--rediscovered the road bike, too.

Good for you :thumb:

I started road cycling about 1.5 years ago, passed 10k miles last month and really enjoy it...to say the least.

Keep it up, and BTW it has been a great way for me to make friends. People who cycle are a great group of people, hands down!

Welcome back. I only started cycling again, after a 28+ year hiatus back in April '11 and it has improved the quality of my life immensely.

A full year?
Less Belly?
More Lungs?

.... Sounds like a reward is in order!

(Hope your wife wasn't counting on that life insurance check coming in anytime soon!)

Congrats. Reminds me of my own path back to cycling. After a 10 yr. layoff I got back on the bike thanks to a woman who wanted me to help her get into cycling. At the time I was 56 y.o. and about 200 lbs. Been back riding for 10 yrs. now and down to 185 lbs. (Got another 10 to go) and been living with that woman for 7 yrs. Happily I might add.
