Dem kids persons

It's not unusual for my daughter to want time with me, she's only 11 so Dad's still a good option.

On the other hand, my son is 20 and while we've always had a good relationship, I was still chuffed when he put yesterday aside because he wanted to go for a ride with his old man. He's not a cycling enthusiast, his sport is soccer and push bikes are just an unfortunate form of transport, but he knows my passions and wanted to do something with me that I love.
Guess I must have done something right when raising him

Congratulations on a job well done. No "Cat's In The Cradle" song for you.

I love it when that happens.

Several years ago my 2 sons invited me to go mountain biking with them for Father's Day. They chose what they thought was the gentlest "real mountain bike" trail. They had the decency to wait at the cars for me to finish. I was a little bloodied at the end but didn't I break anything so you know that I had a good time.

Since that time my younger son has invited me to do a few road bike rides. He completed his first ever century in just a little over 5 hours so he has to pace himself to ride with me.
