Randochap (remember him) and others as well. I think Rowan and Machka also included it in their recent tour.

Beautiful area on Vancouver Island. Wonderful cycling.

Not quite, I live just up island from the airport. I wish you wouldn't post things like this it might attract riffraff like Chipcom or ReubenX and then I'd have to move.

I am trying to get spry up that way. I think I see your place when he turns up Ladysmith harbour.

We did a short tour of Vancouver Island in August 2011. It was lovely, and we'd like to return for a longer tour one day. We were thinking about heading over there around about now (we're sort of in the general area right now, but on the mainland), but the weather hasn't been the greatest.

I visited Vancouver once on business, but we did not get a chance to do the Grouse Grind with our host.

I think that does it -- we'll start planning a return trip later this year to pick up a pair of Bike Fridays in Oregon and give them a shakedown tour of Vancouver Island ending with a leisurely couple-day ride around the Nanaimo Bar Trail!

I used to see part of the island from ground level twice a month back in the 90s for about 7 years. I crossed from Tilbury to Nanaimo on the CP/Seaspan barge and would drive down to Duncan. (Can't take hazmat on the Victoria ferry.)
It is a beautiful place.
I have a cousin who lives on Salt Spring Island. I'd love to visit her some time.
