Why did this come to mind?

I really need to drink my coffee and take a deep breath before I log on and read posts, otherwise my imagination runs rampant.

I have two bikes. One is "my bike" and the other is "my other bike". Whichever one I am riding, working on or in close proximity is "my bike" and the other one is "my other bike"

Mine are called either "Road Bike", MTB. or TT Bike. Occasionally I call them "A piece of crap".

I have yet to name one, but I know my next one's name and I know who she is and she will definitely be "Proud Mary."

I had Ethyl and Lucy, but traded Ethyl for a cruiser for my wife (I cannot recall if we named her bike yet?) And, I just bought Sandra.

Road bike: Trigger

Bastardized mountain bike: Ruth

I think whatever my #1 road bike happens to be will be named Trigger from now on.

If you know who Ruth's owner was, you're a Great American.

If you know where the name came from, and why it's unusual, I want you as my Trivial Pursuit partner.

I don't know about owner, but I know Ruth's rider was Jaxom (Dragonriders of Pern by Anne McCaffrey). I named my first good bike (a white 1981ish Raleigh Gran Sport) after the dragon.

Must be a different Ruth than the one I knew. Hint: Ruth was a Jack, not a Jenny, and his owner wore loud Spurs. The real question is, why was his name Ruth?

Mine were all named by the manufacturer, some were given a number. That's what I call them, the numbered one's are preceded by ite year of manufacture.
