I was Santa Cruz once, hiked Pinnacles a few times.
Here's my local one now. There is an excellent ride with empty road into the north entrance to Rainier NP, terminating at this Carbon River bridge, downhill from the Carbon Glacier.

Superbowl schmooperbowl. Last Sunday, I went for a ride in the mountains. We had 70-80F weather, light winds, and since so many were at Super Bowl parties and the like, little traffic.
Highlights included a stop at the Circle X Ranch for hot wings, ice cream, and cake (leftovers from a celebration the day before, pizza at Pt. Dume, and a stop at the Malibu Cafe.
Great climbs and descents with ocean views. Sooo lucky to be able to do this kind of thing at all ... let alone at my age and in February.

The 7 y/o grandson finally getting into bikes. Addiction to Youtube and video games hindered his cycling development haha. I was going to get him a nice 20in BMX for his birthday this summer but I think he's going to be more of a mountain biker. He just wants to ride the trails all day.
