You guys have some amazing places to ride in.
I live in a very built up, industrial area. High population. Very busy traffic. Narrow roads, hilly.
When I look at the pics on here, I just drool....long highways. Wide open roads. Ocean views.

I taught my photo class how to shoot for panoramas then stitch them together in Photoshop. ]. As a bonus I showed them how to make a "Tiny Planet" from their panos. I figured I better do one too,
so of course I included my wife and her bike.

It's ok. I just didn't go back and re-torque it after 50 miles after completely tearing the old bike down and completely redoing it. It had been hanging in my father's garage since 1982.

oh man.... that's one of my fears! I've seen at least one person by the roadside trying to figure out what to do about a loose crank bolt, and really, without the suitable wrench, your only options are to walk home or learn to pedal with one leg.
It was this fear that made me buy the "Cool Tool" back in the day. A great little tool for C&V bikes, but a novel feature is the 14 & 15mm crank bolt socket that can tighten up that critical bolt (or nut). A rather hefty tool, but very useful....

I felt it starting to get wonky, and initially thought it might have been a pedal bearing. I noticed clean metal on the spindle starting to show and quickly turned toward home hoping to make it (I just shortened up an already short 10 mile ride by a couple of miles). I actually made it to the outside of my neighborhood when it came off, so it was only about a 6 block walk to the house for a repair. Could have been much worse!!
