When I arrived at what I thought would be my last covered bridge in Vermont I found this.

I operators tried to put out the fire with snow, but it spread to the bridge. The bridge became unstable and eventually collapsed into the Missisquoi River. This is what it had looked like. Telegraph Pass in South Mountain Park
Every fourth Sunday the park has "Silent Sunday". They close most of the roads to auto traffic. I rode to Telegraph Pass, then hiked a quarter mile to the National Trail Lookout above the pass.
