Midway Geyser in Yellowstone

Although the "Old Faithful" gathers most of the attention, there are many other attractions far more exotic there.
Check out Mammoth Springs in the north, for example. It's like being on another planet

Not a good day to ride so I did a short hike up Lone Tree Rd. Beautiful thanks to all the rain we’ve had.

The Salt River in Phoenix

Normally the river bed is dry. There are pools of water where effluent from streets and who knows where drains into the river. This year our reservoirs have filled and they are releasing water upstream. The river is flowing! This is a once every 10-20 year sight.

7th St.

Flowers near 16th St.

Under I17

Across from Sky Harbor Airport

Tempe Town Lake Dam

McClintock Dr and the 202

The ride was about 40 mi out and back from Central Phx.

That was shot from the Snoqualmie valley looking east to the Washington Cascades. If you drive, it’s 40 mins due east of Seattle or 70 mins by bike.

Up the haystack twice, when I mustered my courage to do the scramble and then cross the saddle. Been up Si dozens of times, both routes, but am a bit old now for risking it all on haystack.

Funny story, the last time I was up on haystack it was about an hour and a half before dusk. Crossing the saddle to the other side there was a young couple in the throws of passion up on the rock. I averted my eyes by walking around them. A very romantic view for them. Doubt they even noticed me.

My brother and I went up the haystack with a friend once in a very icy, windy snowstorm. We were quite pleased with ourselves for keeping going in what the Scots call "full conditions". But yeah, we were in our 20's...

For out-of-towners, the haystack is the big rock lump on the top of the mountain to the right in rsbob's photos, named Mt. Si.
