I am in Philly. Are you familiar with the Hitchbot incident here?

Gotta love the wild mustard this time of year. It looks like a divinely inspired Monet painting to me.

View from the upstairs ‘pain cave’. It beats staring at Zwift full time.

Flying over the Santa Mountains on the way to visit family in Oregon. What a beautiful morning!

I am definitely one of those people with their nose pressed up against the window.

In the right foreground is Pt. Dume ... swimming pools, movie stars (very deliberate Beverly Hillbilly reference). To the left along the coast, Zuma Beach. Those sandstone mountains in the foreground left are the Boney Mountains, and way in the background, Camarillo. Way in the background is the home of the California Condor.

Not bad for a cellphone!

Oregon doesn't suck either. Some random farmland nearing Portland:

And Mt. Hood, with some recent snow.

(The last two NOT with a cellphone, but a Canon G15)

I guess it is only a problem in some airports. We were lucky in that both LAX and PDX were fine ... actually less crowded than usual.

Lovely photo! Some of California's Spanish names are truly perplexing. I had to look up the origins of this one. Evidently La Venta Inn was originally a sales office, thus the name "La Venta" which translates to "The sale."

Interesting. Until now, I thought "La Venta" meant "the window," because the view of the Santa Monica Bay from there is quite nice.

Of course, I was confusing La Venta with La Ventana. But what is a couple of letters between friends? lol

I am so clueless about languages. I grew up just accepting that cities were named San Francisco and Santa Barbara without even noticing that San and Santa are masculine and feminine versions of the word for Saint. Ditto that the Spanish have masculine and feminine versions of "the" just as the French do, thus explaining why some things are El ____ and others are La _____, just as they are Le ______ and La ______ in French.
