Yep. She is in incredible shape ... as is her husband ... an occasional cyclist that gave me a run for my money climbing up that back side. Great folks! Here is a little more of us riding through the Eastern Sierra. What a gorgeous day! This particular valley is typically headwindy, and when we made the turn to head south, we got a snootfull of 15-20 MPH headwinds. It looked like we were in for a 50 mile sufferfest, but only a few miles up the road, the winds magically disappeared, eventually turning into TAILwinds for much of the distance. http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c2...ps19358353.jpg |
At the beginning of May, we did a tour of the Sonoma / Napa wine country with tour operator Santana Tandems. Here are a couple of pics.

Wow, what great pictures!
Have you done a coffee-table book 395? From my ride up through the redwoods today. Does this tree make my bike look small? http://i.imgur.com/ENszVsH.jpg This is Stone Lagoon. http://i.imgur.com/QfjJczH.jpg Prairie Creek Redwoods State/National Park. You can see elk in the field. http://i.imgur.com/Qca8BgE.jpg With the self-release. I am pretending to read the energy bar ingredients. Good acting, right? http://i.imgur.com/EZXNK68.jpg |

I was thinking more along the lines of making a calendar of images and donating the proceeds to a charity. Nice pix of the Redwoods, BTW. Wow. Here's a couple from the same area from the weekend before: Copse of Trees at Conway Summit: http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c2...ps14f215df.jpg Bodie (Cool Ghost Town): http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c2...psf67a144b.jpg |

I am a HUGE fan of making actual photo books. In our digital world so many images just disappear. MySpace? Floppy drives? Zips disks?
Make a book. Yes, the large ones can be costly, but still worth it. And small paper bound ones are so expensive. Here's one I did that I love. Montana, Idaho and Oregon, 2010 by Curtis Corlew: Sports & Adventure | Blurb Books |
Hmm. Looks cool! I'll have to give one a try.
Here is one from the ESD last weekend. This time, I'm one of the ones on the other side of the camera. We're on the June Lake Loop, and behind us is Carson Peak, and although it's hard to see ... Horsetail Falls (what looks like a waterfall in the background is actually a snow chute). http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c2...ps307e0d0b.jpg |

It's been a long time since I managed to ride my beautiful Bianchi - November last year in fact. Serious family illness and unpredictable working hours plus bad weather have conspired to keep me out of the saddle for over six months. I did get a short ride on my folder last week but today was Bianchi day! http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w...psdafe28d7.jpg I bought the aluminium frame off Ebay last year for a fraction of what it would have cost new. It had hardly been used and was in near perfect condition. I then built it up with Campagnolo Centaur group set and Campagnolo wheels, Cinelli stem and 'bars plus Time pedals and Continental tyres. It rides like a dream. Today was one of those hot sunny English summer days that happen about once in several months! I had to ride. I only did about 18 miles through quiet country lanes and beside a local river but boy was it good to be back on two wheels. http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w...ps3076d35a.jpg Here's looking forward to more time on my Italian thoroughbred. |
Thanks for all the spectacular photos! Just curious what kind of cameras everyone is packing in their saddle bags?

Some pictures of my solo ride a few weeks ago around Mooresville and Swancott Alabama. Wheat was still green and growing and cotton and soybeans not up yet.

Mount Ventoux to the left of the castle at sunrise. We climbed it that morning.
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u...ps5eaa5d4c.jpg I always liked the pictures of cyclists next to the sunflower fields that we often see in the Tour de France. This is me in Provence. Great pics of the ESD Biker395. I took a couple of pics early (still need to get them off my camera.. was gone to the midwest last week) but then spent the rest of the ride just trying to finish!

Can't begin to imagine how you could wrap the chain like that with your shoe clipped in. So cool. :)

I played mechanical support for my LBS's Thursday Ladies Ride. A couple women snuck into a local art sculpture. :)

Concept test (using my iPhone) for a photo I hope to shoot in better light using my dSLR.
I had too much fun doing it so I thought I'd share it here. https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5482/...e2dd7f19_z.jpg Tricia x11 iPhone test by ccorlew, on Flickr |

One of my favorites from Riding the Rockies. This was on the descent off of Fremont Pass. I took it while screaming by at 50+ mph.....hit a hard bump not long afterwards!
