The shape of those distant mountain peaks actually kinda give it away.

Jackson Valley is amazing. What I didn't expect was that Teton Valley on the other side would be so awesome too.

^ Yea, the Pacific Northwest east of the Cascades really sucks, eh? Especially like that last picture.

Squeaky Wheel
The last one is near Smith Rocks, north of Bend Oregon (that's me in the photo). The first two are West of the Cascades...Mt. Constitution on Orcas Island in the San Juans. The 3rd is on Mt. St. Helens (that's my wife with Mt. Adams in the distance). Very yummy Mountain Biking out this way.

395,
The bike in your picture is on the center of the far left side of the pic, on the roadway?
Bill

I don't even remember knowing they were there when I took the picture, but I think so. The road just twisted and wound around those hills. What a gorgeous place to ride.
Here is another from Idaho ... I think at this point, we were rolling out of Dubois.

A photo of the day! This morning, it was 24°f, but it felt nice anyway, when I took my bike out for my pre breakfast exercise ride. It felt so good, I decided to stretch my errand ride this afternoon, and went up the Confluence trail for a bit. I discovered that they finally finished the walkway to the roof of the Great Rivers Research Center, where they have a viewing platform. Thus, I took a pic! This kicks off my new season of wandering and snapping pics!
Edit: I reworked my initial rush job, to have a better color balance in the photo. Sky looks bluish instead of cyanish now, and the stop sign doesn't have a weird glowy effect anymore, thanks to DeLaboratory and The Gimp.

How do you guys take pics while riding? Where do you stow your camera? I have two organized rides coming up and want to take pics and record the event. I plan, note "plan," on making a ride report.

When I am "carrying", I carry a Cannon A720 Powershot in a ziplock bag in a jersey pocket. The ziplock keeps the camera [hopefully] rain and sweat proof.

Which one are you, or are you the one behind the camera?

I like riding with a camelback-Mule. 100 oz water and tons of storage. I wrap my camera (Nikon P80) in a golf towel for "some" protection. The palm trees was a catch up point after an stretch on the River Mountain Loop around Lake Mead. The stretch included the "Three Sisters." Bad sisters, tall bad nasty unrelenting sisters.
