N+1 Again!

Good for you Sarals, glad you chose the 10-3 CAAD. Please post some pics in 50+ for the N+1 when you get the chance. Unless you find you have a problem you should just use the stock crankset and BB. FSA isn't it? My BB30 on te 10-4 Rival with the SRAM crankset/BB has been trouble free so far.

Bill

I needed a true race bike (things are getting serious with me and racing), because my Look 566 wasn't right and my Bianchi L'una 928 was too pretty. So, after a whole lot of research, I bought this:

After the initial 34 mile ride on a so-so setup, I took it to my LBS, got a proper fit, changed the bar tape to Fizik, put a Specialized Oura 143 saddle on, bought a pair of Mavic Cosmic Carbone SL wheels with Conti 700x23 GP4000S tires, and now I have this:

Because I race, I have to train. The CAAD 10.3 is configurable, and this is the training setup. Mavic OpenPro rims, PowerTap rear hub, and Conti 700x25 Gatorskin tires:

All of my road bikes have three things in common: Specialized Oura 143 saddles, Look KeO pedals, and Continental tires.

Great picture. What kind of helmet is that? It looks like its got plenty of ventilation - something I need lots of around here in the summer months. Bike look good too.

Nice bike -- all configurations.

You don't look like you're 50+ so why are you posting here?

Well done. I agree with your equipment selections (especially the Caad 10 frame) and really, really commend you with your choice of race wheels. Light and tough as nails. Good job!

Good choice Sarals, even if I am biased it shows good taste on your part. The race set up looks very well thought out, must be all the racing and training you have undertaken. Good for you.

It's a Cannondale Teramo, and it does cool well!

Hi Biker395, the woman on the Jamis is Judy and she's my teammate. We'll be racing tomorrow on Palos Verdes Peninsula. Hill climb ITT up PV Drive East to Crest to the microwave towers. Hopefully I can beat her by a few seconds.

I climbed with her for a while on the Tour de Francis and we had a nice chat. Saw her again climbing Decker on the Malibu 7. She climbs like a demon! And of course, as your typical 50+er ... I forgot her name twice!

That hill climb is in my hood! I'd be doing it too (several minutes behind you two), but I'm gonna play in the San Gabriels instead. Have fun!

Cleave has met me, and he can vouch for a resemblance - she does look like me, a little (younger, too)! Me - I DON'T climb like a demon - more like a tortoise!

Must be strange to have a doppelganger ... but you could do a whole lot worse than her ... or anyone younger than yourself for that matter.
