Great day today
 

Woke up this morning at 5 AM and it was 63º and not raining. Rode my bike to the coffee shop and then to work. First time I've done this in a while. Hope the weather stays this way.

I know what you mean. It is great to finally get out in the spring for the first ride of the year.

I rode yesterday afternoon in a tee shirt (synthetic, of course) for the first time this year. It was freeing. PG

A word of warning (I'll probably start a thread about this): This past week I was off. The temperatures crept up first to the high 40's, then the low 60's, then the low 70's. After limited riding this year, I rode a bunch last week.

Now I can barely walk because of plantar fascism. And today it's in the low 80's :cry:

Sounds like you had a good one and the weather is starting to cooperate (except Denver!) As for me, getting up at 5:00am would not be the start of a good day; it would be torture. I'd prefer about 8:00am, followed by about an hour to drink coffee and wake up. I don't usually get that, but I'd still prefer it.

But then, I go to bed late.

Had some great riding weather a few days ago here in the midwest. About 70 deg, sunny, and light breezes.

Today: blizzard conditions, 15 deg, -12 deg wind chill, everything shut down. Couldn't talk the wife into taking the tandem out today so will have to make do on the trainer. :)

Since I am working from home today, there was no commute, but I did a quick metric half century (sounds more impressive than 30-miler) early this morning under near-ideal weather conditions. For those familiar with the area, I rode the Coaster commuter train to Oceanside, where I made the 16 mi. round trip on the San Luis Rey bike/ped path before riding home. On the train I struck up a conversation with a 50+ chap who had an older steel-framed Trek road bike -- he was doing the train-plus-bike commute thing many of us do along the San Diego County coast.

Sounds like where I live. We had a great ride on the tandem this weekend. Today: blowing snow, 30mph winds, and COLD.

Maybe if you quit chasing Goatman and those Zombies your plantar wouldn't go all fascist on you. Make sure you water that plant and talk to it daily, not cursing it because it hurt you.

Considering that I only ride when the weather is nice, any day on the bike is a good day. And vacationing / cycling this week in AZ with my brother is extra special.

That's my sleeping in time. I'm usually up by 0345 to 0400.

It means I am late leaving for work:bang: if I see it at home.:50:

I usually get up between 4 and 4:30. BTW I'm a civil engineer too.
