Any pics of the new Domane? What's your impression about the flexible post? I am still hesitant about my Clyde weight going back and forth on that thing. There has to be some point where it eventually weakens, no? I imagine straightening out a paper clip and wiggling it back and forth to where it eventually snaps, only on a larger scale.

I doubt you'd feel any sway of the Isocoupler on the Domane, its also equipped with a polymer bushing in the assembly to allow the absorption of vibrations as well as the movement. The riders I have talked with are stout guys and they all like the design really well. I'd like to try one as I am interested in an endurance model like the Roubaix or Synapse and the Domane is garnering good reviews. I'm 6'-1" and 185lbs so I'd be giving it some test as well.

Hey, I'm curious as to how you get those bent bikes started. It seems like to start pedaling, you'd need to be leaning back with your feet twenty or so inches above the ground, wouldn't it tip over? Really newb question I know, but just wondering.

It's not as hard as it looks but does take some practice. Here's a video that I did after someone asked me how to turn around on a narrow bike path. You can see me take off, too. BTW, the bike is a Challenge Fujin SL-II.

There's a learning curve to recumbent riding, but it's pretty easy to pick up. It's just like riding a bike, only a little different.

I am still riding an old *FREE* Schwinn Alum Comp, that was given to me by my brother-in-law, after he bought a Trek police bike. This Schwinn isn't your everyday dept store (Dicks Sporting Goods, WalMart, etc...) type of mountain bike. My brother-in-law had it tweaked by a reputable LBS with some better components. I can't complain for it being free! I've ridden the hell out of it over the years, both on road and off road. I don't venture onto the serious mtn bike trails anymore. After watching a few younger guys defy the laws of gravity, I thought to myself that if I tried to do the same, I'd end up in the E.R.!

Thought I'd post a quick update -- better picture (still lousy, but better) than I used before.
2010 Sirrus Comp; bought new. What's left: frame/fork, seatpost/stem/bar/bar-ends. Everything else (including internal headset) changed out.

I just pulled out my dads 1973 CCM Elite out of the shed. Hasn't been ridden in years. Cleaned it up, filled the tires with air, greased everything, and replaced the brake pads and all the cables. Here's a picture of my dad riding it last night. He just turned 84 last week. He hopped on the bike and after a couple of wobbly pedal strokes was off riding with a big smile like I haven't seen in a while. I owe my love of cycling to my dad who encouraged me and rode with me as a young kid. It's the least I could do to thank him!

I've got one like it, but with some updates I have down to around 27 lbs.
Other than ditching the pie-tin spoke protector, what else did you do to lose 7 lbs? You can probably lose another pound by getting rid of the kickstand.
