The Bianchi road bikes always seem to catch my eye. Nice clean traditional look.

I agree. A combination of steel frame, pleasing geometry and celeste is really appealing. However, my wife's Bianchi (similar bike) is black and yellow and it gets more comments that mine, so it's not only the color.

Older road bike for an older guy

I used to have a Bianchi Veloce just like that. It was a great bike. If I’d been able to get a tire fatter than 25mm on it, I’d probably kept it. Always loved the Bianchi Celeste paint. Classic!

I recently built up this Mercier. There's something magical about the ride of these 70's French \"bike boom" bikes. The handling and comfortable relaxed geometry...a joy to ride.

I've gone a bit non-traditional on this one, with the 1 x 9 Deore drivetrain. But it's the best-riding bicycle in my stable at the moment. Today's ride was about equal parts paved and grass paths through our local parks. There are some pretty steep hills, but this old Pug just chugged right on up them in that low gear. Cruising speed on level ground is in 7th, with 8th & 9th reserved for descents or tailwinds. The French built lovely bikes BITD, didn't they?

1991 Ochsner steel that I bought new in 92. I am hybridizing it.
2006 Schwinn Super sport DBX. This is the bike I rode today. Only got in 17 miles. Had to limp back home due to the left crank arm bolt backing out of the threads. Had to stop every 5 to 10 minutes to hand tighten it again. Pretty much pedaled just the right side and babied the left one.

2006 Schwinn Super sport DBX. This is the bike I rode today. Only got in 17 miles. Had to limp back home due to the left crank arm bolt backing out of the threads. Had to stop every 5 to 10 minutes to hand tighten it again. Pretty much pedaled just the right side and babied the left one.

It is a Reflex T1 carbon fiber that Schwinn was using for these. The seat post is the same material. I replaced the cassette, chain, chain rings, tires, saddle and put the racks on it back in September. It is a really nice comfortable ride. I am going to put different tires on it for the winter but do not know what at this point. I think I have clearance for 38mm, maybe 40s, depending on the makes. It has Vittoria Zaffiro Pro 32s now and I have them at 75 to 80 psi.

I was worried it may have been an alloy fork and my next question to you was going to be about a harsh ride.

This old person is riding something brand new. I just picked up a 2019 Tarmac Comp last weekend. I've wanted a Tarmac for years, and I finally decided it was time. The Allez will stay attached to the trainer as my "Zwift" bicycle, so I can ride during the week and when the weather is too miserable for me.

Traded a refurbished 1998 Cannondale Team Saeco to my brother last week to get my 1984 Peugeot PSV back that he's had for 22+ years. It's been overhauled and I'm looking forward to getting even more miles on it now. I suspect it will become my go to bike much to the chagrin of the other machines on the wall.

adding Mudguards a front rack, Lights
and changing the saddle pedals handlebars and stem
and etc.. a bike friday pocket Llama, Rohloff, disc brakes ...
