Add me to the Black Mountain Cycles fan club.
I finished building this today and thoroughly enjoyed a lovely shake-down ride. I retired a 1984 Batavus that I had built up with Campy 10-speed and moved everything over to this. Well, everything but the brakes; I had to get some long-reach brakes.
Sorry about the crappy picture. I think there was some sweat on my phone's camera lens.

It was a cool and overcast day today in Des Moines. I did a 33 mile ride on the local trails and took my 1982 Trek 720 as I wanted a bike with fenders today. The 720 was Trek's top end touring bike in the early 80s (and later became the 520 which is still in production).

Yeah I like the '83. The '82 was built around 700c wheels; the '83 was built around 27 inch wheels (though you can get some cantilevers to work with 700c). I actually own an '83 as well which I rode across the US in '97. The paint job is shot on my '83. I was thinking of getting it painted but then I found my '82 for $50 and decided to buy it rather than paint the '83.

This not so old person rides this...
Early 90’s model (I think) Specialized Crossroads. Wish I could find some info about this bike but I couldn’t find it in the Specialized archives.

I took advantage of the nice weather to put together two long rides over the Memorial Day weekend and rode my 1985 Cannondale ST 400. I love the bike. I picked up with all original parts (Shimano 600) and modified it as I prefer 700c wheels over the original 27 inch and replaced the crank with a compact 50/34. The bike rides great. It has the long wheelbase of a touring bike (42 inches with long stays) but handles more like a racing bike because of the oversized aluminum frame.

Airborne Zeppelin
I am not sure what year it is from, I believe 2004 or 2005. I purchased it used in July, 2017. It was in great shape and I believe not that many miles on it. I have put about 7,000 miles on it since and have done some upgrading/switching of some components. I love riding it. It is light, fast and nimble. I have maybe a total of $1200 in the bike including the purchase cost. That does not count the tires, tubes and cables and chains that have been replaced.

I'll be 62 in a few weeks. This is my bike for trails/paths and casual rides around the neighborhood. I have two sets of pedals for it. Cheap barefoot pedals (on bike) and VP-Vice Pedals for the trails/paths.
And this one for longer road rides.

How about old person's daughter? Shay rides a 1971 Schwinn Suburban 5 Speed for college. Nice thing is people let it alone... well the bike anyway.

I picked up a trike this spring. Haven't taken it on any club rides yet, gotta bling it up first! Actually, I just want to do a few more adjustments and finish making a headrest for it. This is fairly old, but it looks like it's had an easy life - or a good mechanic.
