2016 REI Mazama steel frame, the last year they made it in this configuration. Extremely comfortable and fast enough. I won't get any Strava KOM's on this one, but once in a while get a PR.

My main errand/commuter/fun bike needs a new rear rim, so until I take care of that, I'm riding my track racing bike. I had forgotten how much fun it is.
It's a 1971 Raleigh Professional Track that I built up from frame and components. It has tubular tires.

Picked up this "new to me", Bike E (RX model) recumbent bicycle to use when the wife and I aren't out riding on our Terra Trike Recumbent Trike TANDEM! 27 speed, mid-drive triple chain wheel.

The bike is light, and a light bike rides best unladen. I carry the rest of my stuff, including a water bottle, in a backpack. That way, the extra weight is sprung weight.

My Émonda
My Trek Émonda SLR. I've made a few changes, principally switching out the wheelset (which was nice but neither particularly lightweight or aero). The new wheels make me think I can pedal faster, even if I can't.
With the wheels and a few changes of components, the weight of the bike is 6.7 kg (slightly under 15 pounds). I can tell that it doesn't weigh much when I carry it up two steps onto my front porch after a ride. Other times, not so much. ;-)
Yesterday, as I neared my home after a ride, I remembered when I first became seriously interested in having fun on a bike. I was about 26. I thought, too, that the following years flashed by. And it felt good to be able to still ride my bike.

I just finished the 2019 Tour de Nebraska which was held this year in western NE:

It was a fine ride. It was surprisingly cold which was good for sleeping at night and we got lucky with the rain (we got really wet and cold on Friday). I had most of the gear I needed but I was wishing I'd brought some wool socks,
There were plenty of bluffs and great vistas throughout the tour. There was good beer after each day and the food wasn't bad. The mileage was very reasonable and I averaged right around 40 miles a day over the 5 day tour.
I took my Soma double cross with 700 x 38c tires. The tires were reasonably light 700 x 38c Hutchinson override tires (400 grams). I like fat tires when doing a multi-day event. They're comfy (I ran mine at 60 psi) and you don't need to worry much about the road surfaces:

I managed to sell off some little used bikes and some project bikes, then bought this 2008 Equinox 7. Has 9-speed so I suspect a previous owner did some parts swapping at some point.
