Old guy has his ride.

I now have my ride. Time to start hitting the road. As we all know our requirements are are such a custom build fits us best. I worked with a local bike co-op and ended up with just what I wanted at a price I could well live with.

Time to weigh in and start a chart. I know at the start I will not be going far or fast but over time my numbers should improve.

I will post updates as progress is made.

I have posted the story of my bike co-op adventure here https://thefrugalhamstercyclist.blogspot.com/
for those who have an interest. A bit to long to post here for the few that care.

Thanks to all who helped in the process.

Hope to meet some of you on the road at some point.

Good job, you've taken the first and most important step.

I suggest you consider a weekly goal such as rides per week or hours per week. Ignore the miles and the speed for now, just ride.

My weekly goal is 10 hours per week, which I've been reaching most weeks.

Your blog was a very interesting read. I have not heard of bike co-ops or elf's before, although my brother's garage sound's a lot like one. He seems to have an affinity for old discarded bikes, fixing them as he has time and then gives away to friends. Congratulations on your bike build and enjoy the sights and sounds of the gentler world!
