It's good to have things follow you home.

Are you going to ride it, flip it, or fix it up for a friend?

Good question. I will probably keep it for occasional rides and to loan out for dirt road rides. I'm afraid I'll have to replace the cool looking handlebar/stem combo with something higher. 3" saddle to bar drop currently. Not good.

Thats about what I run on my road hybrid in terms of drop. Less wind resistance and my body isn't small so less of sail is good. :)

A steel frame mountain bike. So right now, before you fix it, the most you can lose on this deal is $ zero.

If you replace the stem, you'll be looking for a canty cable hanger too. I wouldn't replace the front brake because my bet is the return spring hole in the canty studs will be on the wrong side for modern replacements. Rear brake is goofy too.

My daughter used to own a Raleigh Technium mountain bike from about that era. It's a fixed gear now.

I wouldn't dream of replacing the brakes. That Suntour XC group, especially the shifters and the roller cam rear brake, was what made me buy the bike. Cable hanger is no problem. I probably have one in my old parts box, but if not, they aren't expensive. I do have a Nitto Dirt Drop stem which will do nicely. I just need to find the right bars.

I'll bet he left the gate open for it though.
