N+1 For The Last Time Again
With the weather so bad this spring there is really only one thing to do.... no not that..... Build the next N+1 is what I mean. When this nifty LeMond frame came on eBay at a decent price resistance was futile. Frame is the same size as another in my fleet so I knew it would be a good fit. And so it began.
http://i1119.photobucket.com/albums/...t/P1040976.jpg At least I moved the components from another bike in the mothball fleet to economize on the build! Here she is as ridden today. http://i1119.photobucket.com/albums/...t/P1040994.jpg Well... In truth, did buy new stem and zero setback seatpost from Williams. And I have a Prologo saddle on order to add to the experiment. http://i1119.photobucket.com/albums/...t/P1040988.jpg http://i1119.photobucket.com/albums/...t/P1040998.jpg http://i1119.photobucket.com/albums/...t/P1040996.jpg Only the triple crankset and mtb rear derailleur give me away for the poser I am. :D http://i1119.photobucket.com/albums/...t/P1040987.jpg I know the mirror adds a nerdy uncool touch.... but I like having it. http://i1119.photobucket.com/albums/...t/P1040981.jpg This bike rides like a dream and fits great. It is uber light.... A good rider could make it go pretty fast. LINK to Full Picture Set |
Oooh, nice.

Looking good B.D. :thumb:

She looks like a rocket poised to take off. Quite a looker.
|
Sweet! Another Lemond to add to the stable. How does it ride compared to the others? When do you anticipate mostly using this one?
|
Very nice build Don, well done sir, well done.

Looks sweet. What year is the frame? I don't recall seeing one before.
|
Good looking bike! Did you put that gearing on it for specific rides or are all your bikes geared that way? Taking it to the Dolomites?
|
Slightly off topic but who else, besides me, when they read the title thought " N+1 for the last time, Ya, Shhuurre, Get real"? Nice ride.

Correct. This is the bike that's going to Italy this summer. Granny ring is 28 tooth and I'll probably take an 11-34 cassette along. There appear to be some pretty steep sections in some of the places I'm going. I can climb most anything around here (it is NOT as flat as you think) in 38 x 30 or 32 at most, but when I need easier gears I really need them. I know my limits.

I have a 34 on the rear and it sure comes in handy at times. It'll be on my next bike too unless I get a flatland bike.
|
Good looking ride Don, have fun.
