Yea, baby. For the same reasons, I have a $20 watch and a $300 headlight. :D

For general use, I posted before about Conti tires, but if anybody is looking for a really fun tire for ideal riding conditions, I love my Vittoria Rubino Diamante Pros. Very fast racing slicks meant only for dry roads, with not so much flat protection. But dreamy.

About to try a pair of Maxxis Re-Fuse. I'll let you know.

I rode these for a long time and liked them fine. I've had Gatorskins for the last couple of years, so my exact memory of the feel of Re-Fuse is not as good, but I seem to remember the ride on them wasn't quite as firm as a Gatorskin, while the flat protection was just as good.

FYI, the Continental Rep I met at the LBS last November stated that Gatorskins should last ~6000 miles. I put 6400 before buying new ones and still use the old ones on a Wheel that I use for the trainer(still a good amount of tread/rubber is on them--the wear indicators look fine still).
