Went To LBS Today - No Towine Mod For My Wife

My wife who was not sure she wanted to ride and got the Townie as a fashion cruiser is the first two bike owner in the family.

Rather than mod the Townie for a more comfortable ride we bought a Trek Fitness 7.3. It gets here next week.

My wife said if it would not have been for the Townie she would not have gotten the confidence to ride a bike like the Trek

FYI - Believe it or not, Trek is sold out of Fitness 7.2 ladies bikes in my wife's size until the 2014 models come out in August.

The N+1 bug has bitten early. Hope she enjoys it when it gets here.

A good entry level step up. If she continues she will most likely move to more of an entry road bike. Depending on your situation, the townie might be the keeper of the two. The Trek looks like more of a transition bike where as the townie is a good beach cruiser, grocery getter, ride with the grand kids bike. That's my opinion any way, YMMV.

I agree about the Townie but, I am guessing the Trek will be around for a while. Right now my wife is happy with the 20 mile runs on the bike paths that we do together she does not have any desire for anything else.

As for me I have a Domane 4.0 on my wish list because I want to do group rides and get just little bit faster

The Domane is a great bike. Maybe get two? Make the second one a WSD.
