Vacation: Cycling in Trempealeau County, WI
After much indecision I have finally decided to spend several days cycling the scenic backroads of Trempealeau County, WI. I have done a few rides there and the rides and scenery are amazing. Here is the link to Bicycling Magazines experience there:

And a few pics from when I rode a few years back. Great scenery and challenging climbs, fun descents, friendly locals, and low traffic rural roads! C'mon Saturday, get here fast!

Thanks. My cousin used to own a goat dairy farm nearby in Ferryville. I love that area.

Sounds like fun. I rode an organized tour across Wisconsin years ago and we rode through that area. We started in Lake City MN and crossed the Mississippi in Wabasha MN. I think our first overnight was in Galesville WI. The tour company was called "Bike America" at that time but I think it's now "Cycle America". I've also ridden the La Crosse metric century a few times - the one in late August that crosses into MN and rides south along the river to the IA border. Enjoy your riding!

Photos from downtown Trempealeau WI, right on the Misssissippi River. A pretty nice rail-trail goes right through there.
Second and third photos show the Trempealeau Hotel, mentioned in the article. Food was good there!

Trempealeau is on my list to do for a week. I got all the maps last winter, but we decided to take the tandem to Ireland this summer. We leave in three weeks.
Maybe next summer.
