Very good report and the usual fantastic pictures, Vic. That is quite an accomplishment for you, well done, that's truly incredible and you seem to do such mileage regularly, too.

Excellent ride, and nice pictures. Congratulations!
You probably managed a very good moving average speed..?
Do you or any of your co-riders have a GPS track on Strava / Garmin Connect?
That's also my mistake. Seems to happen to me every time I have a very big event. Gotta learn to manage that better.

I gotta get more sleep for these events. Inevitably, I work a full week and the day before the ride, and find myself putting the bike together, changing tires, filling water bottles, lubing chains, and just generally getting things ready. By the time I get to sleep, and to start the ride itself on time, I've got to rise at 2:30. Getting 3 hours of sleep is one thing ... riding 300 miles on 3 hours sleep is another. Oy.

Good job, Vic. The problem for me is our rides will seem short and boring for you, if we ever ride together again.
I'm so inadequate.

I need to learn more about my Garmin 500. I turned it off at lunch and connected an auxillary power supply. When I started it for the rest of the ride, I was on 00:00's. I had the first half of the ride, which was nice, but would have been nice to had the entire ride together.

I left the VDO at home because I couldn't fit it on the stem with the aerobars and headlight. So I have no ride statistics at all.

If I had to guess, I'd say we had a pretty good average speed through all but the last section. We pacelined through a lot of the ride, and climbed at a pretty good clip for the remainder.
Lol ... I doubt it!
