Mtn Biking Tomorrow - Hopefully

Tomorrow, this 73 yo will do some mtn biking. I have gone over that slow leaking rear wheel with a fine toothed comb and can not find the cause of the slow, small leak, except possibly the small remnant of a goathead. So, I put in a new tube, pumped to 60,and will check the tire first thing in the morning. Hoping for the best.

I will go to either Spruce Mountain or Spruce Meadows Trail - some of our open space in Douglas County, Colorado. I did Spruce Meadows last year - it is where the Sheriff stopped me for being too close to the railraod on private property. I showed him the map and he agreed. They have changed the map this year!!

Spruce Mountain is by far the tougher for me. I need to leave about 5:30 am to avoid the heat.

Here is a link to Spruce Mountain

Here are maps of each - click on the next showing map for a very enlarged view.

Yes - it is a semi-slick and 60 is fine for it. Within guidelines on the tire.

Mountain biking has an edge to it that road biking just does not give. I know it is hard and at times a bit hard on the body but something about being in the countryside with no vehicle noise except for the occasional tractor that is calming. Might even get mt MTB out this weekend to show myself what I am missing.

Sounds like a great day on the trail.
I went Mountain Hiking with my daughter Sunday

This pursuit has seriously cut into my cycling time but it has been well worth it.

One should hopefully always mountain bike hopefully. I have mountain biked disparagingly and have always gotten exactly what I deserved.

That's it. Carry on.
