While I won't hold my breath as to the 5 year projection, a cross-Florida bike path sounds great!

If the Legacy Trail, Venice to Sarasota, could be linked to a cross Florida trail, that would be beyond awesome.

I read that and I wonder if I'll still be able to ride by the time they finish it. There was also some talk, a while back, to connect the north end of the Suncoast Trail, from US 98 in Hernando County, to the southern most trailhead of the Withlacoochee Trail (in Trillby, also in Hernando County). This would allow them to intersect with this trail in north-south direction. If they do connect these trails, you'll be able to ride from Tampa to Citrus County, as well. But, I'll believe that when I see it happen, if I'm still alive by then.

Are you going to post this in the Southeast Regional subforum?

Wow, the comment section doesn't make this sound too enticing:

I guess a gun doesn't do much good when you are riding. I think webcams with 24 hour video storage would help. I still like the idea we just have to find a way to out smart the criminals.
ListenUp at 6:35 AM May 05, 2013 Apopka is the area where cyclists are pulled from their bikes and robbed or beaten. Can the trail bypass Apopka?

Kenji_No at 2:11 PM May 04, 2013 This is really cool, but at the same time I see it becoming Boogie-Man Trail with robbers jumping bicyclists like outlaws used to rob stagecoaches.
