It's all a matter of time, or finding the time.

I recently replaced the saddle and now am not uncomfortable after 30 miles so my rides will be getting longer.

Best thing... no flats so far.

But I did cut two tires and have to replace them.

Congrats.

Comfortable long distance saddle = good!

Say, you prompted me to look at what I have done since March 2012 and it was 2979 mi Most this year (2142 mi) - last year was a bad year for me as far as cycling goes - travel, etc. It definitely gets hard to fit in those long rides sometimes.

My goal this year is the mileage of shortest route across the US - something in the 2300 mi range.

My highest speed is 47mph going downhill and I needed to change my shorts after.

My average speed is about 15mph with hills but i generally do 18-20 on the flats.

I have seen tremendous improvement over that 3000 miles. Average rides have gone from 20 to 40 miles and hills that ever very difficult are not fairly routine. There's still plenty of hill that suck the life out of my legs and I have a lot to learn about dealing with them.

The best thing is my weight is down 20lbs, my cholesterol is below 200 and blood sugar is normal.

Super job.

Fastest I ever went was 35 mph and that had me a tad nervous.
