I tried a couple of workout videos and didn't really get into them. I found that the best videos for me were races recorded with TIVO. Be really careful not to fall off sideways when watching a spirited descent. The temptation to lean is almost overwhelming.

I have Spinervals and a Carmichael training videos. Both are great and quite different work outs from each others. Bought them on Amazon.

AC/DC live. Gets me through a workout better than any training video.

I've got a few of the Real Rides (http://realrides.ca/) discs. They are filmed on various routes, such as the Penticton Ironman course, Grand Canyon, Coer d'Alene Ironman, etc.. There is a narrated workout, but I usually mute it and just ride. For one thing, their idea of a warmup is only 5 minutes, and it takes me at least 15 to feel truly warmed up.
Note that there is another company making DVDs with this name, I have no idea what their product is like.
My better half prefers to watch races such as the Giro or the Tour, which can also have interesting scenery.

I have used one from cyclingvideosonline.com that works well for me. I have the Bay area Backroads. I like it a lot better on bigscreen tv than on my computer screen. I'm now old enough that I rode it several times before I had it memorized. Now I mute the sound.

I have a series of 9 Spinervals VCR tapes!!! with Coach Troy - not that I use them, but they are pretty good. I got them on EBay really cheap. However, I did go to spinning class for 60 minutes this am. :)

A couple of years ago I found a "deal" from http://www.globalride.net/index.php, a Hawaii series of rides, I don't think they offer that one anymore, but it was more oriented toward conditioning than racing.StrenDurance Hawaii DVD is a redo of the original. I think the "suffer" stuff is beyond us.

Recorded DVR bicycle races works best for me when I have intervals to do. During the recovery time I can listen to the race announcers but during any interval the focus and pain pretty much prevents me from doing anything except ride along with the group on the projector screen. Reality is that my best interval efforts on the trainer or rollers will only match the sustained effort of those guys who are racing for 5+ hrs.
