N +1 Fever

So less than a month after I learned the true meaning of N+1, I took the plunge. Been riding an LHT and loving it for two years. But had a hankering for the occasional lighter, faster ride. The fever bit hard this week. I couldn't resist and added this to the stable. Finally today SC Nebraska will take a break from winter and we should see 60+ degrees. Wonder what I'll be doing?

That looks really cool. What's your next +1 going to be?

N+1 is not really a fever. It's more like Lyme Disease. A spirochette that remains in your blood forever. FWIW, I have a road bike I love and I will never get rid of it. I'm not the collector type so I may buy another road bike but it will be an amazing classic like a DeRosa or a Cippolini if I can ever afford either. But, I won't be the guy who has a stable of bikes.

That's an excellent choice. The Roubaix is one of my favorite models. I might own one when I grow up.

Next, I recommend a bike in the middle of these two rather extreme weights. I love my 28-pound bike. It can go anywhere, and I can ride it fairly fast, too.

That's what they all say. I think that if you let your bikes overnight in the same room they breed. That's how hybrid bikes came about.

I'm up to 4 that I ride, and another 4 that I can't figure out what to do with. I got them with the intention of fixing and selling, but can't seem to let them go. I've also got my eye on a frame on ebay that ends today, and is close enough for me to pick up. I need help!

Congrats! I light road bike and a sturdy touring & gravel bike are a great combination.

I've got a variation of N+1 called N+1-1.

I had N+1 until about a year ago but then realised there was no other option other than going cold turkey.

Now every time I want another bike I get rid of one I already have. I've never looked back and it gives me the freedom of going N+2 or even N+3 should I wish, as long as I also go -2 or -3 at the same time.

I always do the - part first to fully enjoy the + .

The best part of all is that it hasn't stopped me enjoying my N bikes, and N can be any number that suits the individual.

N.B. N does not include bikes being built.

Excellent choice for an addition to your list. Enjoy the miles.

I shouldn't even be thinking about the next one, but am I too old for mountain biking?

The ride today on the Roubaix was pretty good. Almost felt fast! But I did miss my Brooks saddle.
