 Sold my house yesterday!

We moved a year and a half ago and I've been taking care of two houses since then. Finally got the old one cleaned out and ready to sell and the neighbor snatched it up before we could even list it!!!
This must be what it feels like to get out of prison. I feel free. That house is an hour away and I've been going over there once/week to mow, etc. I've been a slave to that house. Now I know what Thoreau was talking about when he said things sometime own people.
It sure felt good to deposit a whole bunch of lettuce into the bank account today.
And today's my birthday!!

Wouldn't it have been easier to deal in cash?

I am a bit further north then that....but either way, ask them if they have been enjoying the weather lately.

Thanks,

Congratulations. I once owned two houses in a state I wasn't living in. I sold one and rented out the other. Then I decided I couldn't stand living in the city I had transferred to (racist town where I just couldn't bring myself to raise a family). So, I moved back and ended up renting a house in a city where I owned two houses, at least until escrow closed on one of them.

So you sold your house, you've collected the money and you already have another place to live.

I'm thinking that every bike vendor and custom frame builder who's reading this might be having heart palpitations. Time for +1.

OK but is that sold, as in "closed" or sold as in "contract signed"? World of difference there.

OP mentioned ".....a whole bunch of lettuce into the bank account...." so I figured he was happy since the deal was done.

My brother suggested we buy a motorhome.

Whenever I go back, which isn't often, I notice all the bike trails that weren't there when I was growing up.

Closed. And yes. That is one big, huge gorilla off my back. The closing was 3 days ago and I am still feeling rushes of relief.
I don't have to go and clean the yard.
I don't have to worry if the wind blew off the siding or the shingles.
I don't have to worry about the pipes freezing.
I don't have to check to see if anyone stole the copper pipes.
I don't have to check for mice.
I don't have to pay for propane or electricity over there.
I don't have to clean gutters.
I don't have to drive an hour there and back on my day off.
Life is good.
