Birthday Ride

Finally able to do my Birthday Ride 6 days past my birthday rode 55 miles in just under 4 hours, didn't realize how much of a climb i had to deal with in the middle of the ride so since it was a out and back ride I cut off one and a half miles and backtracked on flat ground, started at 5 am and got back just before 9am.

Happy 6 days past your birthday and congratulations with the ride.

Nice going! I've done the Windmill ride down your way a few times and enjoyed it; nice country you have.

TB is a nice ride. Wife and I have done it 3-4 times on the tandem. I'll be doing it on my single this year. I'm going to try the century, but I've done a 70 mile ride with the two bigger climbs and it's tough on an oldster.

I've got just two months before my 56-mile B-day ride... I'm screwed. As of this morning, we still had 4" of snow on the ground and salt-covered roads. I'm not taking any of my bikes out on any roads that are still white with road salt!!! D*** this Winter!!!

+1^ My 51st B-day is a month out and with a foot of snow cover (larger banks at the side of roads) and roads painted white, I think my birthday ride may end up taking place on a spinner. Hope I can do a one month anniversary ride in May.

Last time I did the TB was 23 years ago while I was a member of the Almaden Bike club that puts it on haven't done a full century in over 20 years been riding through the winter months as much as I can 800 miles so far this year, I'll be starting as early as they let me and see how it goes.

I quit riding my age when I hit 69, I did ride 70 miles in a 24 hour period though. That's good enough for me.

Congrats on the birthday and the ride. but ...
I would never do anything related to a birthday, involving bicycles, that would require me to wake up before 5AM. ;)
