You come back from an adventure. You don't from a disaster.

If you haven't read this piece at The oatmeal, then you and everyone here should:

The Blerch

Congrats on your ride btw.

I threw in my congrats yesterday, but I have to come back to this thread because something is really bothering me. What WERE those women doing in their PJ's in the middle of the day. Is this a Kentucky thing?

Every year the ladies auxiliary throw some crazy theme. Two years ago they were all cowgirls. Last year they were dressed up for the prom. They had a little girl slapping "pillow fight" stickers on everybody's jersey this year. Who knows next year.

Nice work! Does this mean we all have to do a century?Btw was this your first?

Dudelsack 04-15-14 08:06 PM

Second, but the first with any significant climbing.

Awesome! Congratulations on finishing the mighty century! I find it curious the number of cyclist that have a Douglas Adams fixation. I have read all of Douglas Adams books, a close friend of mine whom is a cyclist has as well. I was at a bicycle shop recently and when I was asked if I had any questions I responded, "what is the meaning of life?" To which the prompt and unflinching answer was: "42." The young man and I had a brief discussion on the enlightening abilities of Douglas Adams writings. Apparently spending unreasonable amounts of time on 2 wheels and deep fictional works must go hand in hand.
I would also like to add, contrary to what one of the poster's on this thread stated; not all suffering has a purpose. I have found that much of life's suffering is without merit or need. Cycling though, is not one of those types of suffering.
