For Those in the Boston Area
 

Those who subscribe to Bicycle Magazine may have seen the story about the 2013 Boston ride.

I be in town from New Bedford, for the Midnight Marathon ride starting in Southboro on Sunday. Anyone else?

One crazy thing is that the authorities wanted us to cancel the ride this year. The route is open to all traffic till 7:15 AM, but for some reason people on bikes are a threat. We are staying clear of the start and finish line because of the security concerns. There is a pancake breakfast being offered from 1 till 4:30 AM. Advanced ticket is required. Temps will be in the mid 40's which is just about right for the Boston Strong on bikes. :thumb:

This was a very very cool ride. Riding your bike at midnight....in a big city...with hundreds of like minded folks following the Boston Marathon route is a unique and very much a fun ride.

I have visited Boston a number of times on business, and it is one of my favorite destinations in the entire country. On my most recent trip (too long ago) I was fortunate to arrange a meeting in West Newton with Sheldon Brown, before he began to succumb to MS.
