It was the best of rides, it was the worst of rides
So I bought a used bike off of ebay. It is a road bike and I now know I really should have gotten a hybrid or at least touring bike. But I thought I got a great deal on this one so I took it. It was shipped so I had to put it back together, no biggey I do that, gears and brakes were working well and the wheels didn't need trueing. I hit the road following my base route so I could compare it to my BSO from walmart. It was much lighter, but it came with skinny 700 x 23 tires. Way to small for a guy right at 300 pounds. I will be getting new tires soon. I switched my cell phone holder off my big box bike and on to the Velorazzi road bike. It was much quicker but it rode much harder. Also my view is as wide as when I was sitting upright on the Walmart hybrid. I know I was making better time but I have to concentrate on watching the road, I ride the streets of my neighborhood. So had to make a few quick turns and stops most of it was my fault. As I got more than 3/4s of the way through my ride I look down and to my horror notice that my high end cell phone has escaped!
OMG! I turn and completely retrace my route, no phone was ever seen...
I return home sadder and wiser but I completed the longest ride ever for me, but also the saddest.

Have you tried some of the apps to find the phone? I "lost" my iPhone a while ago. I got it back by asking the SOB who stole it very nicely to give it back. You can actually "brick" a phone if you call the carrier and I would advise that so that no personal information you have is compromised. Somebody has it. You should proceed from that inference and consider your exposure.
The thing I lost off my saddle bag lately was my cossack hat. It was one of these.

First call your carrier, you don't want somebody calling say Bangladesh on your dime. While your talking to your carrier, see if there is a way of tracing the phone. You can also call your phone and then retrace your route, listening for the ring....
