Genius
Modified kids bike frame.
Front wheel drive. Mountain bike fork for a seatpost. Cheapo office chair for a saddle. Purple awesomeness. http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c2...psf6a92203.jpg |
This is how 'bents got invented. Then, somehow, people started taking them serious.
|
Just about everything on that bike is interesting. Do you know that guy or was it a chance encounter?
|
Chance encounter. Whoever put that together is a true engineer.

I want to party with both rider and inventor

That is a wine bottle holder that just happens to fit a water bottle as well.
|
This is what made our country what it is.
|
Wow

I bet the hardest part was finding the matching purple seat!! I think I see valve stem in the rear tires so they look to be pressurized versus solid. I find myself really studying that thing........

I see two cables coming from the handlebar but no brake. |

I'm thinking he did it the other way around - found a spray can to color match the seat.
I see two cables coming from the handlebar but no brake. But..............does look like a brake is on the front of the most forward piece of the 'fork-thing' below the crankset. Not on the original fork. Cruzbike will be introducing their own version of this thing very soon. |

this weekend I am riding in Monterey CA. One of the bike trails goes past a homeless encampment of sorts. Many of these guys have turned "throw away" bikes into veritable works of engineering art, converting them into transport vehicles for their worldly possessions. Truly amazing! |

Agreed. The genius of the bike is that it can be configured in so many ways and still be recognized as a bike.

S. Cal location means that it must be an invention that crossed the border. Deport it.
|
Ingenious!
But, is the bike stable? It appears top and front heavy. |

Yup. Kinda reminds me of Roland.
http://www.bikeforums.net/fifty-plus...ll-roland.html I haven't seen him in quite a while. I did see him once, at Neptune's Net. He was quite a sight. Since then I have seen other riders pulling similar "transports" but none in the scale of Roland. I wish I had talked to him. :( |
