Rewarding Oneself just because
 

Feeling good this afternoon and just Amazon Primed a Garmin 1000 Edge premium Bundle Amazon.com: Garmin Edge 1000 Bundle: GPS & Navigation along with next day air shipping so that it will be here in the am. I can honestly say this is my very first GPS for a bicycle. Anyone else using this model and what do you think?

I am really enjoying my Garmin 800. I'm sure the new features on the 1000 will make it even better.

BTW, your LBS could have matched that price. I know the one I work for could have done it. Probably could have it tomorrow if ordered now. Definitely by Thursday.

You'll find a number of threads on the 1000 in the Electronics & Gadgets forums, many complaining about bugs in the device. But hopefully you'll have a good experience until Garmin sorts them out. Unfortunately, Garmin releases devices before they're ready for prime time and early adapters are guinea pigs to a degree.

Sweet. Expensive, but sweet.

My iPhone and Strava can do the same thing, but I doubt I can get the battery life out of it to match the 1000.
